Though IBM has recently made some adjustments that have displaced some very talented workers, their presence here remains substantial. They employ several hundred folks and enabled the renovation and restoration of the largest building in downtown Dubuque. IBM has recently extended their lease on the space in the Roshek Building and expect to be here for the long haul.
There does not appear to be any foundation for the recent rumors of their intent to leave Dubuque. Their business has changed in the last five years. We hope that the decisions that they are making are the right ones to maintain their sustainability.
Much of the building is in use, with Heartland Financial moving many of their operations here.
The Winter Farmers’ Market is now held in the Roshek Building lobby on Saturday Mornings.
